The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program is a 139-140 hour degree. All courses are lock-stepped, sequential once students are admitted to the program. The “cohort” of admitted class of RC majors move through the RC curriculum together with each course a pre-requisite to the next semester. The RC curriculum is described as “spiraling” and course information is presented repeatedly, but at increasing depth to develop critical-thinking skills needed professionally.
Admission to the BSRC Program is granted yearly with a class size of 40-45. Application are accepted during the spring and fall of each year with two deadlines for admission groups. Individuals applying to the BSRC Program during the spring semester of each year are considered for early admission by the Admission Committee. Once selected, the individual is guaranteed one of the first twenty seats in the new class depending on satisfactory performance in the RC 1313, Introduction to Respiratory Care, course offered each fall. Individuals applying for admission during the summer and fall are eligible for consideration for the last twenty seats in the new class.
