Overview:
A Bachelor of Arts (BA) in environmental geology provides a rigorous background in earth sciences. Students earning a BA in environmental geology will be prepared to seek positions in surficial or environmental geology as registered geologists. Students have also pursued careers in other fields including education, journalism and law.
Academic Information
Admission Requirements:
Any student may declare a major in Environmental Geology. Students must complete College Algebra and English 1000 with a C- or above and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA to complete a graduation plan with the College of Arts & Science.
Minimum GPA for Admission: 2.0
Specifically required non-major courses for the BA degree:
Chemistry 1320 and Chemistry 1330
Physics 1210
Math 1400
Biology (choose one) 1010/1020, 1060, 1100, or 1200
Entry-level courses to sample the major:
Geology 1100 or Geology 1200
