The Rotary Bikeathon Challenge- Objective: “Cycling for a Cause” – Education: The raising of JA$2,000,000.00 to establish a fund to provide ongoing financial assistance for young persons unable to complete their education because of a lack of funds
First staged in 1995. An annual cycling event staged by the Rotary Club of Montego Bay East organized for cyclists of all categories. The Bikeathon is a two–stage race open to competitive cyclists of the Professional/Amateur category. |

The Course |
Bikeathon Course:
Professional/Amateur cyclists. The Entertain Jamaica- designed course will take cyclists from the Whitter Village START to the Sea Castles intersection then Loop around and head back west to the Whitter Village, on a flat, fast A1 Highway course along the Elegant Corridor of Rose Hall. The course remains flat with a few slopes along a scenic route. This new course will create a true feel of a circuit bike course. The course design will encourage tactical riding for the more experienced cyclists, while ensuring the high level of safety and comfort for less experienced riders. The new course will also provide numerous points for spectators to view the race.
- FULL DISTANCE COURSE –74 km (4 Loops)
- RECREATIONAL COURSE- 18.5K (1 Loop)
5K Run/ Walk Course:
The Walkers and Runners will also start at Whitter Village Centre, heading west to the traffic lights and turn left into Ironshore on Morgan Road, left onto Patterson, down onto Sugar Mill Road, left on the highway and back to Whitter Village Centre.
Kids Bike Race:
The kids bike race course will be a closed circuit course inside Whitter Village
